Planning clearance costs: a personalised quote
A personalised quote depends on the work, not just the number of rooms.
Rehomeo editorial · Editorial draft · prepared 12 October 2026 · not yet published
A personalised quote depends on the work, not just the number of rooms. Item volume, weight, floor, lift access, carry distance, dismantling, travel and agreed handling can change the scope. A small apartment with awkward access can require different work from a larger, easily accessible one.
Plan the details
Give enough information to make the quote meaningful: an inventory, dimensions for large pieces, known defects and access details. Ask what is included, what would trigger a revised price and how changes are approved. Rehomeo does not publish invented fixed prices or assume that possible resale or donation pays for the collection.
A practical example
Two collections of five items can involve different work. One may have ground-floor access and intact furniture; the other may require stairs, a long carry and dismantling. Compare the included tasks, not just the headline price. If you add items after receiving the quote, seek an updated agreement before collection.
Compare quotes against the same inventory and access description. Ask whether the quoted total includes the agreed handling, travel and dismantling, and whether any charges depend on what is found on site. Do not assume one provider has omitted a charge just because their wording is shorter. If an offer is unclear, ask for clarification before accepting. Keep a copy of the agreed scope so changes in quantity or access can be discussed against a common starting point.
Your checklist
- Describe volume and access.
- List dismantling needs.
- Clarify agreed handling routes.
- Ask about exclusions and changes.
- Approve scope price and date separately.
Sources and limitations
Longer use can reduce waste and demand for replacement products. The outcome depends on condition, transport, storage and actual reuse. We do not calculate or promise carbon savings. The environmental context is general, not a measurement of this service. FOEN explains that the whole life cycle must be considered when assessing outcomes. No per-item or collection-level savings are claimed here. BAFU / FOEN / OFEV / UFAM.
Before agreeing collection
Customers pay for collection and clearance unless another arrangement is explicitly agreed. A possible donation does not make transport free. An enquiry starts a conversation. It does not reserve a collection. How it works.
