Organising a complete apartment clearance
A complete clearance works best when the scope is specific.

A complete clearance works best when the scope is specific. “Empty the apartment” can mean very different things to the owner, tenant and collection team. Write down the rooms, storage spaces and objects involved before asking for a price.
Plan the details
Agree whether fitted items, curtains, light fittings or appliances stay. Do not remove anything belonging to a landlord without permission. List dismantling and access needs separately, and distinguish clearance from cleaning, repairs and a move to another address. A single room-by-room list helps compare quotes that otherwise appear similar but include different work.
A practical example
For a flat with a cellar, create separate lines for the living rooms and cellar contents. A quote based only on the apartment may not include that storage area. Identify shelves fixed to the wall, boxes to retain and any unknown contents. Ask for the agreed scope to name each included area explicitly.
Create an included/excluded list alongside the inventory. For example, a built-in cupboard may remain while the freestanding wardrobe leaves. Review the list with anyone authorised to make decisions about the property. If you are organising clearance for another person, confirm your authority and avoid treating access to a key as permission to dispose of their possessions. Keep the agreement available on the collection day and explain any changes before work begins.
Your checklist
- List every included space.
- Identify items that must remain.
- Confirm who owns fitted objects.
- Agree dismantling responsibilities.
- Check the handover requirements separately.
Sources and limitations
Longer use can reduce waste and demand for replacement products. The outcome depends on condition, transport, storage and actual reuse. We do not calculate or promise carbon savings. The environmental context is general, not a measurement of this service. FOEN explains that the whole life cycle must be considered when assessing outcomes. No per-item or collection-level savings are claimed here. BAFU / FOEN / OFEV / UFAM.
Before agreeing collection
Customers pay for collection and clearance unless another arrangement is explicitly agreed. A possible donation does not make transport free. An enquiry starts a conversation. It does not reserve a collection. How it works.
